This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how I collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the CaloriePlan AI mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Services").

• Nutrition logs: Foods and meals you manually log, portion sizes, calorie intake, macronutrient data (proteins, carbohydrates, fats), and micronutrient data.
• Health goals and activity data: Target calorie intake, exercise habits, physical activity level, and health-related goals you enter into the App.
• Food images: Photographs you upload or capture within the App for food identification and nutritional analysis purposes.
• Feedback and support information: Messages, feedback, and contact information (such as email address) you submit when contacting support.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, the following information may be collected automatically:

• Device information: Device model, operating system (iOS/Android), system version, unique device identifiers (GUID/UDID), and advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android).
• Log information: IP address, access timestamps, app usage logs, feature interactions, crash reports, and error logs.
• Network information: Current network status (Wi-Fi or mobile data), network quality data, and connection type.
• Usage data: Features you use, screens you visit, buttons you tap, content you search, and how long you spend using different parts of the App.

1.3 User-Generated Content

To deliver core App functionality, I collect and process:

• Food photos you capture or upload for AI-based food recognition and calorie estimation.
• Meal plans generated or saved by you within the App.
• Notes and preferences you add to your nutrition logs or meal plans.

Food images and related metadata are uploaded to secure cloud servers solely for the purpose of AI-based nutritional analysis. I do not retain food images for longer than necessary to process your request, and I do not use them for any purpose beyond providing the requested functionality.

1.4 Sensitive Personal Information

Because CaloriePlan AI is a health and nutrition app, some information I collect (such as health conditions, allergies, dietary restrictions, and body measurements) may be considered sensitive personal data under applicable laws. I handle all such data with heightened security measures and process it only to provide the Services you have requested.

2. Permissions I May Request

To deliver the full functionality of CaloriePlan AI, I may request the following device permissions. Each permission is sought only for the specific purpose described and consistent with the principle of minimal data collection:

You are in full control of these permissions. You can grant or revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings. Revoking a permission will disable the features that depend on it but will not affect your previously collected data.

3. How I Collect Your Information

I collect your information through the following means:

• Directly from you: When you create an account, complete your health profile, log meals, scan food, set goals, or contact support.
• Automatically: Through the App's operation as you navigate and use features, via device logs, usage analytics, and crash reporting tools.
• From third-party services: Through analytics providers (such as Firebase/Google Analytics), advertising networks, and AI processing services integrated into the App, subject to their own privacy policies.
• From device sensors: Camera input when you use the food scanning feature (with your permission).

4. How I Use Your Personal Information

4.1 To Provide and Personalize the Services

• Generate personalized AI-powered meal plans based on your health profile, dietary preferences, goals, and restrictions.
• Analyze food photos to estimate calorie and macronutrient content.
• Track your daily calorie and macro/micronutrient intake.
• Provide nutritional insights, recommendations, and progress summaries.

4.2 To Improve the App

• Analyze usage patterns and feature engagement to improve the user experience.
• Fix bugs, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
• Train and improve AI models used for food recognition and nutrition analysis (using anonymized or aggregated data only).

4.3 For Communication

• Send transactional notifications such as meal reminders, hydration alerts, and goal check-ins (with your permission).
• Notify you of important changes to the App, Terms of Service, or this Policy.
• Respond to your support queries and feedback.

4.4 For Security and Legal Compliance

• Monitor for fraudulent or unauthorized activity and protect account security.
• Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), and other relevant regulations.
• Enforce the App's Terms of Service.

4.5 For Advertising (Where Applicable)

Deliver relevant in-app advertisements or offers. You may opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings at any time.

5. AI Features and Automated Processing

CaloriePlan AI relies on artificial intelligence and machine learning to deliver its core functionality, including:

• Food photo recognition: AI models analyze images you upload to identify food items and estimate their nutritional content.
• Personalized meal planning: AI algorithms generate meal recommendations based on your health profile, dietary goals, preferences, and restrictions.
• Nutritional analysis: Automated processing of your food logs to calculate and present calorie and macronutrient summaries.

Important notes about AI processing:

• AI-generated meal plans and nutritional estimates are for informational and wellness purposes only and do not constitute medical or dietary advice.
• You should consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, particularly if you have a medical condition.
• Food photo analysis may not always be 100% accurate. You can manually correct any AI-generated values.
• Food images processed by the AI are sent to secure cloud servers and are not retained beyond the time required to complete the analysis.

6. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

As a mobile application, CaloriePlan AI does not use browser cookies. However, I use similar technologies on mobile:

6.1 Device Identifiers

Unique device identifiers and advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android) may be used to recognize your device, deliver relevant content, and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

6.2 Analytics SDKs

I use analytics tools such as Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to collect anonymized usage statistics. These help me understand how users interact with the App and improve the experience.

6.3 Crash Reporting

Crash reporting tools may collect technical data about App errors and crashes to help me diagnose and fix issues. This data is anonymized where possible.

7. Storage and Retention of Your Information

7.1 Where Your Information Is Stored

Your data may be stored and processed on servers located in India or in other countries, including countries outside your country of residence, as required by our cloud infrastructure and third-party service providers. I take appropriate steps to ensure that any international data transfers comply with applicable legal requirements and that adequate safeguards are in place.

7.2 How Long I Retain Your Information

I retain your personal information for as long as:

• Your account is active and you continue to use the Services; or
• It is necessary to provide the Services or fulfill the purpose for which it was collected; or
• Required by applicable law (e.g., financial records, legal obligations).

When your data is no longer required, I will securely delete or anonymize it. Food photos submitted for AI analysis are deleted from cloud servers promptly after processing is complete.

Account deletion: If you delete your CaloriePlan AI account, I will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except for data I am legally required to retain.

8. How I Share Your Information

I do not sell your personal information to third parties. I may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

8.1 Service Providers

I work with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating the App, including:

• Cloud hosting providers (for data storage and server infrastructure)
• AI/ML processing services (for food recognition and meal planning)
• Analytics providers (e.g., Firebase/Google Analytics)
• Push notification services (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• Customer support tools

These providers access your data only to perform services on my behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

I may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if I believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws or legal process, protect my rights or property, or protect the safety of users or the public.

8.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the successor. I will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

8.4 With Your Consent

I may share your data with third parties in any other circumstance where you have provided explicit consent.

11. Minor's / Children's Privacy

14.1 India — DPDPA 2023

As CaloriePlan AI is developed by an India-based developer, Indian law primarily governs this Policy. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA):

• I process your personal data only for lawful purposes and with your consent, or for other legal bases permitted by the DPDPA.
• I will obtain your explicit, free, informed, and unambiguous consent before processing your personal data.
• You have the right to access, correct, and erase your data, as well as the right to grievance redressal.

• The right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making that produces significant legal or similarly significant effects.

Since health and dietary data is considered special category data under GDPR (Article 9), I process it only with your explicit consent and implement enhanced security measures accordingly.

14.3 California, USA — CCPA / CPRA
